Private Residence - La Canada, California

Located in the renowned address of Beverly Hills, this 1940’s English Tudor-style estate was overgrown with aged/dying plant materials and in need of an update.  The Client wanted a clean, updated new look that would complement the respectful stately appearance of the existing home.

A new infinity pool, Jacuzzi, water feature and outdoor entertaining areas were installed on the south edge of the property opening up tremendous views all the way to Pacific Ocean.  In addition, new cobble-stone paving and stacked stone walls were constructed from the entry gate to the auto-court area on the north side of the property.

Mike Williams-Design Studio, Inc. provided a unique monochromatic planting design giving the residence striking color throughout the year.  The land surrounding the property was planted with thoughtfully selected indigenous, drought-tolerant grasses that not only conserving water use, but provide a lush green cover, year-round.  A large portion of the property on the north was dedicated to the owner’s appreciation for Japanese Gardens.  A bubbling brook was designed and installed in the area along with appropriately themed plantings, such as; bamboo, azalea, gardenia and grasses.
