Pacific Design Center

The design team was challenged to create an appropriate balance between the massive contemporary architecture and the landscape for this existing landmark building by Cesar Pelli.

Landscape elements were used in a clean bold way with refined detail. Rolling landforms from the building to Melrose Avenue create a sculptural park-like setting. The San Vicente plaza spaces uses with it’s formal design and amenities.

As Senior Designer, Mike, in association with the project’s out-of-state Master Plan Designer, developed the Schematic Design and Construction Documents. In addition, Mike provided assistance to the client by providing and addressing local political and permitting processes and construction administration services.

This project is recipient of several awards including: Southern California Development Forum’s Grand Prize Award; the American Society of Landscape Architecture (Southern California Chapter) Merit Award; and recently honored by the American Institute of Architects (Los Angeles Chapter) with the coveted Twenty-Five Year Award.
